How do i improve my pc for online games?

My pc is about 3 years old. All I really use it for is to play games online. Its a emachine and it works pretty good , but lately the games i want to play my pc cant handel it. I dont want to buy another. Is trhere step by step instruction on the internet that can walk me through improving my pc. I have a pent IIII processer with 2.0 ghtz speed 256 ram 32 mb-agp-3d. what I want to do is increase my memory and get the latest vidieo card i currently use nividia any ideas out there on what i should do and please tell me things that will work with what i have
So now i understand that I will need more memory and a better 3d card. Is there instructions on the internet that will guide me through doing this myself. Do I leave the old parts in and just ad new parts things like that ?

The best thing is to play online suggest 15mb internet connection at least 3ghz processor pentium or similar at least 1gig of ram 256mb or high video card and since you want to play online.
The best thing is to buy new pc you want at least 3ghz processor pentium or similar at least this should run most things brilliantly.
